1 killed and 3 injured by alleged drunk driver in New Jersey Turnpike crash

NEWARK, N.J. – 1 individual died and 3 individuals sustained injuries when a vehicle driven by an accused drunken driver hit a concrete barrier on the New Jersey Turnpike in northern New Jersey. On Sunday at about 1:25 a.m., the accident happened in a northbound lane in Newark, according to the State police. The individual who died in the accident was thrown out of the motor vehicle when the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the barrier. Another male who was traveling in the vehicle sustained a severe neck injury, while 2 women in the vehicle sustained undisclosed injuries. According to the authorities, the driver was charged for driving under the influence. It is not confirmed if the driver sustained an injury or not. The names of the individuals who were injured in the accident have not been disclosed by the police.
